I need help with my blackberry/Apps?

Okay, I got the blackberry curve. And for my data plan I only did the 2g. So I downloaded an app for Twitter called Tweaker, and I'm logged in but when I close out of the app is it still using my data/internet even though I'm logged on but I don't have the app up? haha I'm new to the data plan, thank you to anybody who can help me!
Does wifi use my data plan? is WiFi free?

If you have 2GB and you're on a BlackBerry, you'll be ok and shouldn't go over. BlackBerrys are know to be frugal on data.

The killer app is video that can chew through data like crazy. Use WiFi if you're worried.
