i need help with my cd-dvd drive!?

a while ago, my cd-dvd drive STOPPED working. why? i have NO IDEA! it sucks. it opens up and everything,so i know its not a power failure. when i open my computer, i see everything except the E drive. i tried going into hardware and deleting the device to see if it reinstalls the drivers, but that doesnt work. im thinking i have corrupted drivers. but anyone know know how i can get this bad booy working again???
the model is a tsstcorp dvd+-rw ts-h653

make sure every cable is plugged in correctly, then try re installing the rivers manually. right click on my computer and hit 'manage'. go to device manager and look to see if its not installed properly. if it isn't their will be a yellow marker in the right corner of the icon. if it's installer correctly, reinstall it and if that doesn't work open up setup (F2 for most computers) in the boot-up. hopefully it will recognize it. you may need a new cd drive

I had that trouble when I swapped drives(got a newer one). Might try looking for driver updates. It may just be dying. The external open/close button on mine no longer works, but I can access it from Computer menu. Go figure
