...a Mockingbird? Im writing about the bird motif-- mockingbirds, blue jays, and finches. My theory is mockingbirds symbolize the typical racist white people, blue jays symbolize the targeted color people, and finches symbolize the innocent non racist people. The opening quotation I'd like to use is "Shoot all the blue jays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird." My thesis would go something like "With their unique chracteristics mockingbirds, blue jays, and finches are symbolic and represent the racial issues in society." i know what I want (obviously) but I just can't seem to figure out or even get started. Please help?
