I need pumpkin pie filling for a recipe and all I can find is pureed

pumpkin. The dessert is not cooked.? I can add the spices, sugar and milk to it, as if I were making a pie, but I do not want to add eggs, since the dessert is not to be cooked, it's a pumpking, gingerbread trifle. Does anyone have a recipe that would turn pureed pumpking into pumkking pie filling? If I have to cook it on the stove and cool it, not a problem.
 
Hi aba, The pumpkin will most likely be already cooked but to put it in a trifle it has to be sponge like or it will just 'Gloop' about in the jelly. Does the recipe call for pumpkin and gingerbread sponge, or does it need to be baked as a base? I don't really understand.All the best. Rab Rab
