Ive checked the packard bell website but the ixtreme models they have do not match mine. The current bios i have is : BIOS Version/DateAmerican Megatrends Inc. P01-A1, 31/08/2009

Im having issue with my graphics card and ive heard a bios update will fix it! Pleas help! seriously melted brain here

NEVER update BIOS unless it is the last option.

If you have not set a backup to re-flash the BIOS in case of something going wrong your stuffed.. new BIOS chip or worst case new motherboard needed.

First of all try completely uninstalling the graphics card, completely, all software. Reinstalling it, and updating to the latest one. If you have ran drivers they can conflict, even if they say they have been updated successfully.

Ensure your power supply is completely up to the job of running your graphics card.

Also state what problem your having so we all have an idea, don't flash the BIOS yet, all of us on here can help you do that but really wouldn't recommend it at this stage.

If you have an AM2 motherboard or higher, the chances are the graphics card is probably supported. Considering your BIOS is 2009 a flash doesn't look necessary at all at this moment.

Consider all options first, and definitely read up about BIOS flashing.
You need the exact model, and if you cannot find it on GENUINE sites then don't download it from unofficial sites, you only want an official BIOS release.

Updating the bios is not an undertaking for someone who doesn't know what they are doing. The bios holds information on how the motherboard 'displays' information to parts and to the OS running. Doing anything wrong can pretty much render your motherboard dead.

Can you be more specific about the video card issue you are having? Where did you hear that a bios update will fix it?
