I am seeking a female reader or writer's opinion on something. I am reading a book from Dean Koontz called "Servants of Twilight". In the story, a 37 year old woman kidnaps a 6 year old boy. She approaches him from behind and covers his mouth with her hand to keep him quiet from the neighbors.

I am a writer and I pay lots of attention to detail and happen to dissect everything. I find this quite unrealistic since women have small hands. The boy is 3'10 and weighs 57 lbs. His mouth and nose are 1 cm apart.

Do you think it is realistic that a your hand is big enough to cover a boys mouth with your hand to keep him quiet?

Thanks so much for reading my question. Don't get me wrong. I love the story but I enjoy analyzing the writing of other authors, and I find this unreaslistic. I do, however, look forward to your opinion on this as a female and as a writer.

Of course its big enough. The hand only has to cover the mouth, not lower face.
