and it runs pretty good, now i want to buy a brand new engine but i don't know where to look. So if anyone knows of a good website or catalog i would greatly appreciate it

If you think the engine needs work have the engine in it rebuilt. Replacing it with a junkyard or rebuilt engine can lead to some unforeseen and weird problems based on past experience.

Ummm, if it runs good, why a new engine? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! With that "vintage" there are probably a lot of other things that need attention or will need attention. Save your money!

most big auto parts stores sell new, or rebuilt enginges. jaspers' also works for rebuilt engines. you can also get crate engines from g.m./pontiac.
