...over from my home? i rang the police and gave a statement because they have a suspect that match's the description i gave when i phoned them, then they ring up later today and say can i look at a photo to see if its him and i said no on account has i never seen his face properly so i dont see the point they also told me he was let out on bail because he said he was not guilty. Now what i would like to know is do you think this will go as far as me having to go to court as a witness because all i know is what i gave them in the statement and that was the colour of his clothes. Please dont think of this as a weird question because i am seriously worried i have never been to a court and i sure as hell dont want to go to one now. Thanks in Advance

Edit-
You said you didn't see his face so what
was the point of calling the police?
People are a trip, they call the police
and then don't want to really get
involved in it.

You need to re-iterate what you told them the first time. If it was me and they keep asking the same questions I would get p*d off and say "Like I told you the first time, I didn't see his face!!!!!!!!"

If it does go to trial just make sure you are honest. You need to do the right thing and stick to the truth. Don't let them intimidate you as a witness. That's the right thing to do. Expect them to try to intimidate you into telling a story that isn't quite what happened. If you let them do this, someone will go to jail who has not been proven guilty and is possibly innocent.

If he's pleading not guilty then yes his case may go to court and the prosecution will be interested in getting you to testify as a witness. I think you can refuse to give evidence if thats what you want but I would suggest you go and just tell the jury exactly what you saw. You will just go in, swear to tell the truth etc, the barristers will ask you questions and you just answer them as best you can. YOU are not on trial, don't forget that.

Hope it all works out ok for you.
