2004, we had unprotected sex. i know a lot of other girls who had relations with this guys also. i got tested, and it came back negative. all these other girls are going on with their lives...getting married and having kids.....should i do the same? it was never proven he had aids, just a rumor. but i sometimes feel guily for being with my boyfriend.....because even though i got tested, some say hiv/aids can take 10 years to come up as a positive test result. is this true? should i be single forever? this haunts me. its been 5 years and i still fear that one day ill get tested again and it will come out positive.

if it's been 5 years just get another test they recommend a second test 5-7 yrs not 10 , they will be able to tell if you are a carrier /infected, full blown aids is about 10 years. After that I would start my life as intended! Hope this helped you out some! And let me tell you , you are smarter and more caring then most people , some wouldn't of even did what you did(about the whole testing and worrying thing!!!).

My ex cheated on me with a girl who also rumored to have AIDS. I didnt know that until after him and I broke up. I got tested it came back negative. I am now married. I told my husband this, and he says if 10 years from now we both have AIDS. It wont matter. I would just tell your boyfriend and possible future partners to wear a condom and let them know if it becomes long term.

The kind of HIV that takes the longest to show up will show up in 6 months after exposure. Hepatitis takes 10 or more years, not HIV. If your test was negative, then gather yourself, know what you have learned, and allow yourself what you now deserve - a happy life. You obviously know that you made a risky choice, and have taken the correct actions to deal with it by getting tested, and thinking about the results. Move on, and relax. You're clean, it's overwith, and no longer something that you should allow to haunt you. Be smart in the future, as you know.:)

More than 98% of people who have HIV would test positive within 3 months. In very rare cases, it could take up to 6 months for someone to test positive. Although it could take several years to see symptoms of HIV, it would not take more than 6 months for someone who has HIV to test positive.

Rumors are just that RUMORS.... and usually not based on 100% fact.

Have one more test. After five years, if it is still negative chances are you are NOT infected with HIV. Go have a good life. And be happy.

just have protected sex for another five years then.....as long as he knows of the chance then you've done nothing wrong....

cookie johnson still has marital relations with magic....so don't worry
