I am a live in nanny. However, my boss had me lie to the insurance lady (when she inspected the suv) and told her I am an assistant at his company that is in town. Not a family nanny. I don't know why he had me do this. It felt illegal to say that to her. Why did he want me to say that?
he owns the company

I had to pay the deductible - he charged me.

either he really cared for you and didn't want to hurt you financially seeing that you work for him, if this is your only job then eventually he would be paying for it in long run or he doesn't have that good of an insurance coverage. Sounds like you have pretty good boss.if it were my boss I know I'd be canned. Unemployment line here I come.

I work for an insurance company as a claims rep. He most likely had you lie because he did not report that you are a frequent driver of his vehicle because he knew that it could raise his premiums. You need to be careful if you lie to an insurance company. If they pay out to him and find out about the fraud, you both could be liable.

because he wants his company to pay the deductible for the insurance. If he told the adjuster you were his nanny he would have to pay for it out of pocket.

I think it is because he is supposed to report you to his insurance company as someone that lives in his house and has use of his car which would have caused his insurance rates to go up (especially if you are under 25). Since he didn't report that, insurance many not cover the accident if they know.
