I sprayed wd40 in my ignition switch on my 95 vw passat and now it turns and...

u prob shorted out the ignition y did u spray wd40 into it?

...nothing happens. I need help!? The key turns but nothing happens
I sprayed it becouse it was hard to turn. What do I do if its shorted

Make sure that the battery is OK first.
Check for B+ at the trigger wire on the starter solenoid while the key is held in the start position. If you have a good battery and power at the small trigger wire you have a bad starter.
I would use a spray can of electrical contact cleaner if you really think you caused the problem, hose it down good.
