I texted someone at night and don't remember?

i wrote a text and wanted to send it at 5 am, and set my alarm to 5 am so i could wake up, and send it.
i woke up this morning at 7 45 and realized that i didnt send it and my alarm was not on :(
then, i apologized to the person, but they said they got the text, i checked my phone and at 5:01 am it says i sent the text... WTF? CREEEEEEEEEEPYY!!
HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?
IS MY CONSCIOUS MIND NOT AWAKE OR SOMETHING?
I WENT TO SLEEP AT 3 THAT NIGHT, SO MAYBE IT WAS LACK OF SLEEP?
 
That is very strange... Maybe you did send the messag but simply don't remember because it was so early.
 
IDK how that could happen, but I swear technology has a mind of it's own sometimes!!--OR Mabe the computer in your phone jsut got confused & told you the wrong information?
