I have the iPhone 8GB and I use t-mobile.. I was downloading ringtones on iTunes just a minute ago and I it asked me if I wanted to update my software and like an idiot I hit yes.. So now my phone is on the emergency screen!! It will let me recieve calls and make them but it won't leave that screen!! Can someone tell me what to do I'm about to smash this thing with a hammer!@!

assuming that you updated to the new 2.2.1 version that is just a software update and not firmware update so your unlocked iphone is not bricked.

now you must google how to downgrade your iphone to 2.2.0 or lower then jailbreak using quickpwn for windows or pwange tool for mac. when finished doing this you will be able to reuse your iphone for tmobile.

should all go well for you never update your firmware or software....

if you are do not want to bother doing any of this and want to sell your iphone let me know ;-P

no,u haven't messed up ur iphone...since u said u were using it on "t-mobile" instead of "at&t",it means ur iphone had been "unlocked" or "jailbroken" either by u or sumone else previously. And by updating the iphones' software wat u did was reverse the process,and locked it up again. The iphone in da u.s.a. is meant to be used only on "at&t",'n since u have another cell phone carriers sim card in der,it doezn't recognize it..so juss try to "jailbrake" it again,but i'm pretty sure all ur songz/apps. u had will b erased,so hopefully u had a backup of things...

No, your iphone is not messed up. And if you can recieved and make calls then it means that the baseband is still UNLOCKED BUT the phone got reversed to being not jailbreaked.

Your iphone now need ACTIVATION.

Start here --> http://www.iclarified.com/entries/index.php?caid=2&scid=11&seid=1

Just pick your iphone version, PC version (windows or mac) and the firmware of the phone.
