Not too long ago, I was bitted by a deer tick. I became infected with some sort of tick-borne illness. I suspected it was lyme disease but I wasn't sure. The doctor put me on an antibiotic called doxycycline. I took the medication very carefully.
Later, I began to notice that I was getting athletes foot, and constant stomach upset. I was also having anxiety attacks, and bouts of depression. I suspected that the antibiotic had caused me to have yeast overgrowth in the intestines. My question is: Could there be a link between candida overgrowth and mental illness?
Molds can produce toxins that can cause a person to feel depressed.
It seems that some natural remedies like cayenne pepper, or oregano oil make me feel much better. These two thing have also been know to help against yeast overgrowth in the intestines.
