Three nights ago my 12-pound chihuahua/terrier began behaving very sick, throwing up a LOT and had one incident of runny black diarrhea. He had tremors while we were sleeping and didn't seem as active as he usually is. I thought it was just a flu at first, or a stomach sickness, and made sure he got lots of rest and fresh air. The diarrhea and vomiting cleared up after the first night, and so did the tremors, but he's still acting very subdued and has a small appetite, although he's still drinking plenty and has been eating occassionally.
Just before my roommate left for work not even half an hour ago she told me that she dropped a bottle of advil on the floor three days ago and while she was cleaning it up she thought she saw my dog chewing on something, although she wasn't sure if it was an advil. The timing matches up with the development of his sickness, and it's three days later and I'm wondering if I should start panicking now, even though it might be a bit late, or if there's any other advice someone can give me about what to do to make sure my little dog gets through this.
