I thought Honda was supposed to be so reliable?

I seems so many of them have bad transmissions or rebuilt motors only around 100k (Civic mostly). It seems to me Toyota Camry or Corolla has a better record.

Alright thanks for stating your opinion on a question based site. There's always one.

Car dealers and mechanics will tell you that every car has some flaws in their design. Some have less than others. Ask some auto mechanics what problems are common with certain cars.

I had an old 1972 Oldsmobile that had almost zero problems but is used so much gasoline. It had normal ware and tear due to it being old.

I had a 1972 Dodge that ran totally awesome but it used too much gasoline as well. The cost of gas today makes in not practical for me to buy those old cars that have carburetors and big monster engines.

The above cars were simple enough to work on at home though.
The cars made today seem much more complicated but frequent tune ups are no longer needed like the old cars needed.

At one time, the Dodge Ram Pickup trucks of 2004 or earlier( or there about) had bad transmissions and other problems.
In the 1980's American cars produced were lousy and a CEO of a major American auto maker stated this on the Dave Letterman show.

Toyota is very reliable, I haven't heard reviews about Honda that come close to those of Toyota. People in third world countries are still using Toyota's built in the 80s.

They were probably driven hard and flatout. Or no maintenance or poorly serviced if at all. If you drive your car for 3years without changing the oil the oil will become sludge like mud and seize your motor even if it is brand new. I know someone who bought a brand new V6 3.8 didn't change the oil for 2.5years needed a engine overhaul der? He comes round now and then and go your always doing something to your car. No I was just changing oil in my car, friends and family's. Free labour of course and free lunch for me. Can't do things for absolutely free tools, car ramps and Jacks/car stands cost money. Intial outlay.
