...when at idle, is this correct? - I understand that the engine re-starts when you move off again? Exactly how does this system work and is it any good? Is it not bad for the engine to have it keep switching on and off? And what about the safety issues if you need to move off quickly?

It does???? I drove one of those the other day as a test drive. I was standing at a red light and the engine didn't cut off. It was just like any other car.
