i uninstalled a program that i needed and now i cant get on the internet?

i was uninstalled a program from the add and remove in the control panel by mistake. now i can no longer get on the internet and now my firewall is turned off and i turn it on...i have a compaq psario....i called the computer company and they said i uninstalled something that was very important to my computer and it will cost 49.99 to install it...i tried a restore point but it will not restore...so what can i do now. does anyone have any advice for me...and my computer doesnt come with a recovery disk. any advice?
 
I'm going to assume you are using Win XP for your OS.
Boot into safe mode, and attempt the "Restore" from that point.
You might have deleted the drivers for your NIC card.
