now a good time? I don't need to finance
I am worried about the future resale value of the HD, if HD goes bankrupt, the value of that bike is lost forever, or if the go bankrupt, replacement parts will either be nonexistent, or very expensive, or the warranty will be worthless.

What do you think?

since the economy is shit you car bargain and get a fat deal on your bike, i would buy one now, i doubt hd will go bankrupt they have been around for a long time

When economy is bad cash is king. So if you have the money and you are certain you will not need it for other things now is a great time to buy. You will be able to get a bargain and resale value should not be affected if company topples (which is highly unlikely).

HD is a huge brand with a loyal following, even if they stop making new bikes spares would be a viable business and is unlikely to be affected.

In short - go for it.
