I want to play hockey. but i have to do this?

Alright im 15 and i want to start hockey. I only have been skating 1 time though. My plans are to do a hockey learn to play/skate class in march. The thing is most of the kids are from 6-10 years old. I want to play really bad but this is my only option. I think i will do it. Is this the right choice and is it to late to start? Thanks
