I have a 1996 chevy cavalier, with stock speakers and radio set up. Now how can I build a great sound system from the ground up? I mean everything, what kind of amp should I get? Where should I put it? How many sub woofers, the whole she bang please.
I'd prefer to spend no more than $500, but if I have to I'll probably go higher. I'd like to keep most of the back seat, but the trunk is fair game (open the trunk for like tail gate parties and stuff) um I'd rather not cut holes or anything into the vehicle itself.
Also sound quality.

I personally got Sony explode speakers and head unit with kenwood amp on 2 12 inch kicker comps and it sounds pretty good. I screw the amp onto the back of the sub box and get a bass controller for up front in the dash. Be sure to get a head unit that filters bass so you don't send bass signals to the speakers and blow them
