...dodge the draft, can they fire u 4 tha? They were talking about it, and i said i would dodge the draft, somebody asked me why, and i said because i am not a racist baby killing murderer that kills and invades people of different races, religions, and cultures, just because some scumbags with corrupt and misplaced power tells me to.

And the boss cussed me, and fired me.

Can I file a lawsuit, or can they fire me for that?

a lot of states can fire for anything...i know it is so disgusting

if you're serious and that does appear to be why they made the decision (even if they claimed otherwise on any paperwork) then call your state branch of the aclu. i don't care what state you live in, they can't actually fire you for that.

and i spent 10 yrs in the military for queer cowards like you..baby killers..try taking what is left 0f your bnrain and read about ALL wars..think about the kids that put their lives on the line so fags like you have free speech...you make me puke

Yes you can file a law suit that strictly invades your first amendment rights. You specifically said your opinion and you were fired because of that. You have an easily winnable law suite on your hands my friend.

By your answer you could have caused a serious fight at work. You are not allowed to make comments on any job that would create a hostile work environment. Yes you can be legally fired for it. Your legal right to free speech extends only on your own time and not using your work places name or reputation in that free time. People have been fired for what they said on their Facebook page about work. It stuck too.

Yes you can file a lawsuit for anything.

And yes they can fire you for that, evidently since they already did.

You're either a troll, or a worthless piece of shit. I believe the two are the same.

If you were hired on an "at will" basis then they can fire you for any reason or no reason at all.

Anyone can file a lawsuit. It doesn't mean you have a valid basis for it and there are costs involved. If you lose you could be ordered to pay your ex-employer's costs.

The 1st Amendment only means that the gov't can't punish you for protected free speech. They could still do it if you yelled "fire" in a crowded theater when there was no fire. The 1st Amendment does NOT protect your job.

CNN anchor Rick Sanchez was recently fired for something he said on the air.

in some places, yes.

and next time, maybe you should actually talk to some soldiers before you call them stuff like that.
