plateau. I need nutrition advice.? I'm ht. 5'7 250 lbs 38 %percent fat index I have been making good progress, I have reached my plateau and I won't lie I been slipping. I have no health insurance so seeing a real nutritionist is out of the question. I work out 5 days a weeks and i have cut out all processed foods. What i need is a couple of example of 1500 calorie meals that will keep me full through out the day without feeling any cravings or hunger.

Buy protein powder. Really it's not just for meat heads. Protein gives you calories without too much fat, and as an added bonus, your body needs to burn about 70% of the calories it just took in to digest and distribute the protein throughout your muscles. In addition, if you buy a good brand (I recommend Gold Standard), it only has 1.5 grams of fat to go along with 24 grams of protein. Also, protein helps build muscle. If you are working out a lot, your body will continue to burn fat and build muscles. Protein supplements help build muscle faster and muscle tissue requires your body to consistently burn calories to keep it functioning (i.e. the more muscles you build, the more fat gets burned even when you don't work out). Personally I do not recommend a 1500 calorie diet. I recommend a 2250 calorie diet, but make sure you are getting all your calories from good food. By rule of thumb is eat a lot, but eat a lot of good stuff! Given that do not have much fat, I am actually tying to gain some muscle, so I have about 2,500 calories a day. You will find that it is not so much about what you lose, but what you transform. Finally, let me promise you that hard work brings great results! I started lifting at age 14 when i was 5'1" and weighed 129 lbs.(BMI over 26). Now I am 16, 5'9" 151 lbs. (I think a 22 BMI, but more importantly 14% body fat). That was just in two years of work, and I've only taken it seriously for about 8 months. You really can do it, just keep at it. Feel free to send a private message if you want any help or advice.
