ok i am 16 and i have been playing ice hockey since i was 5 and i want to know what is a good diet to use with a high intensity work out and i want to play Midget AA next year
Tommy, I have to go with Byron on this one. I think he covered it well, especially, not energy drinks that are loaded with caffeine, Have fun. I love ice hockey. One of my foster son's played ice hockey in Tucson Arizona.
NO ENERGY DRINKS! That's is the number 1 rule for any competetive sports.
Between periods drink powerade
NO ENERGY DRINKS
lots of spaghetti or other pasta the nights before any games for carbs.
NO ENERGY DRINKS
lots of milk all the time especailly if your playing miget it will help keep you from getting injured
NO ENERGY DRINKS
drink lots of water before the games. My coach says at least 1L of just ordinary water 1-2 hours before everygame.
NO ENERGY DRINKS
no junk food before on gameday EVER. Avoid it all together if you have th willpower
lots of protein all the time
lots of vitamin C will help keep your energy levels up
and once again NO ENERGY DRINKS EVER
agree with the no engery drinks. but if you want a truly great diet, the easiest step is avoiding those sugary drinks altogether. no pop (or soda or whatever they call it where u r from) or any other sugary drink. that's the easiest step.
take a multi-vitamin
depending on the body type you want depends on what sort of foods you should eat. Need to build muscle? Protein will help you do that. Need lots of energy? Carbs will do that.
Obviously, just eat a balanced diet with an emphasis on whatever you want for your body.
good stuff to eat to help build muscle before and during workout would be protein water and/or protein bars. not during workouts water, low sugar things, no junk food.
