Ideas for freshwater fish

My brother has a freshwater fishtank and I'm deciding to put fish I want in there. Price doesn't matter. I can get 2-4 fish. I have already put in those fighting fish and it got killed by 2 bigger fish. If I like one of your ideas, I will let you name it or name it after you (totally cool rite?!). Either suggest a fish of you own or from Petco's site.

go with cichlids, i have a firemouth, jack dempsey, and a convict. but these fish might kill the fish you currently have. but imo get the convict. medium sized fish that packs a huge punch
