Idle problem with dodge dakota.?

I have 2000 3.9 V-6 dakota and it cranks fine and runs strong but wont idle. After i drive awhile it seems to idle fine and sometimes it idles fine when it first cranks but anyways thanks in advance for any info.

check the temperature sensor, when the computer cant detect whether its cold or hot,the engine wont idle good and it may not even show up on a scanner either,that was a real popular cause for those to not idle good when the engine is cold.then when it warms up they idle real good and run normal,good luck with it.
