If a phone isn't Motorola is it still considered an Android?

Even tho it's not a Motorola droid, is it still considered a droid running on the android market?
 
People have a tendency to call all phones running Android a Droid. Droid is a trademarked line of cellphones by Motorola that run the Android operating system. If a company like Samsung or HTC makes a phone with the Android operating system it IS an Android phone (obviously) but not a Droid because that's a name specifically for a type of Motorola phone. So yes a phone that isn't Motorola can be called an Android most definitely, just not a Droid. :)
 
Phones with "Droid" in the name are Real Droids, and other phone brands like HTC and Samsung produce phones with Android OS. So YES would be the answer to the question.
