Then how far is the satellite away from earth?

If you could show your steps to get your answer, that would help a bunch!
 
mv^2/R = G * M_earth * m / R^2

R = G * M_earth / v^2

G = 6.67300E-11
M_earth = 5.9742e+24
v = 2700000./3600.=750. (m/s)

R = 708725984.0(m) = 708726(km)
