If an adoption came down to a Gay couple or the child not being adopted at all...

...which is right in your eyes? I think that gay couples should have the same rights as straight couples. That includes marriage, adoption and anything else... Being gay does not automatically make you a bad parent and if you believe that, then you, my friend, are terribly naive.
 
Absolutely the gay couple!!!!! Actually I would choose the gay couple over quite a few straight couples I know!! Just because you can have children does not meant you should!
