If I change my IP Address on my PC will it affect my Laptops Internet Connection?

I am a complete newbie at this tech stuff so if I changed my IP Address on my PC which is hooked up to my Router, will this cause my Laptop's Internet Connection to fail? Or will my Laptop not be affected at all?

My router is connected to my PC with wires, so it isn't wireless.

And I just checked my PC and my Laptop's IP Addresses and there both the same, my Laptop and my PC are both able to connect to the Internet, is this okay or is it not set up properly?
 
No, changing IP will not affect the internet connection unless it is in conflict with some other IP. If you are having the same IP in your Laptop and PC and not having any problem...then continue with it.Sometimes when two systems are with the same IP they get conflicted.I have faced that problem..but overcame it by resetting my internet connection and getting a new IP.I checked for the change in Ip using Ip-details.com
