if I liked these books, what else might I like?

I've enjoyed just about anything by Nicholas Sparks -- the only books I haven't read by him are The Guardian and The Choice (which I may read, I haven't decided yet.) I also really enjoyed My Sister's Keeper (although I'm not really a fan of anything else by Jodi Picoult), Jane Eyre, The Plague Tales, The Secret Life of Bees, and The Mermaid Chair.I've loved all of these books, but now I can't really find anything that I'm interested in. I'm going on vacation in a few weeks and I really want something new to read... any suggestions? I'm not really into anything that's overly depressing, etc. Keeping with the theme/genre/similar authors I have would be great, but other suggestions are also welcome.I've also read Kite Runner and loved it. I have the second book by Khaled Hosseini, A Thousand Splendid Suns, but I've yet to read it.

hmm try The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. or Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress (spelled something wrong in that). The Girl with the Pearl Earring.

James Patterson has 2 books that look very similar to Sparks - Sam's Letters to Jennifer and Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. If you like Jane Eyre, you might like Wuthering Heights - I didn't, though, but others are nuts over it. Maybe Jane Austen. I would also recommend Danielle Steel for the romantic books like Sparks.

If you enjoy Nicholas Sparks' books, I would definitely recommend books by Richard Paul Evans. Here are some of his you may enjoy: The Christmas Box, Timepiece, The Letter (those three go together in that order), The Locket, The Gift, Finding Noel, The Looking Glass (and more). If you enjoyed Jane Eyre, I'd recommend that you read the other three novels written by Charlotte Bronte: Villette, The Professor, Shirley. You may also want to read Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, though it's definitely darker than Jane Eyre. I'd also recommend the two books written by the youngest (and lesser known) Bronte sister: Anne. The books are The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Agnes Grey.Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray may also appeal to you.You may also enjoy some of Elizabeth Gaskell's novels like Wives and Daughters.Another book you may enjoy is Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson.I hope this helps.
