If you don't like them or want to have a good work relationship with them, just pretend they aren't there.
I had someone do that to me. Her husband was nice though. He always is nice to me.
In fact, he came to see me in another department one time when he was looking for her, and said he thought she and I were friends, and this was WAY before we ever worked together, and we were in totally disparate departments, barely said hi. He is way too nice to people.
