If i switch from a Samsung ALIAS to a Blackberry world edition do i have to worry

about the blackberry service? I want to switch to the blackberry becuase my other phone is damaged, do i have to worry about the blackberry service or do i have to manually disable it?
Verizon Wireless current phone- samsung alias sch-u740
desired phone - blackberry world edition
