If I wanna share my artwork with other people on the web, what should I save...

...Adobe Illustrator files as? Yeah, title. I'm entering a few art contests which require use of Adobe Illustrator, which I happen to have. But I don't get what file format to save them as.....in Photoshop I ussualy saved 'em as .PNG or .JPEG. But there's no options like that in Illustrator. And it has to be one of those popular file formats, otherwise image-hosting websites (I use Photobucket), won't accept it. Right?

So....yeah! HELP!
