society believe him? Would a society like we have today influence whether we believed?

Well I suppose it won't much matter. In Revelation 6 John describes some shocking things rhat will have to take place prior to the second coming of Jesus. He reports the sky rolling up like a scroll and the mountains falling into the sea. 2 Peter 3:10 says that all the elements are going to melt at the sight of Jesus Christ.

This will be the end for those who don't believe in Jesus. Contrary to popular belief the Bible never mentions any extra time for people to change their minds. We are in judgment now. Now is when we will decide our fate. The Bible says that no man can stand and see the face of God and live, and so it will be when Jesus comes. No wicked man can stand before Him. He is the Son of God, and when He comes you will know that God is here.

No, it is written that in His return it would like in the times of Noah that no one believed until the door in the Ark was closed and everyone perished on the flood....
Then everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?’ (Rev 6:15-17)
Unfortunately, Revelations description of God pouring out His wrath in the final plagues (i.e. - allowing people to experience the consequences of their own sinful choices) does not appear to result in refinement of character and a return to God, “They would not turn from their sins and praise his greatness” (Rev 16:9).

No more then they believed when He did come, no maybe less, we think we are so much more intelligent then those of 2,000 years ago. Very few believed that first day and He probably had (He feed 5,000 men then 4,000 men + one woman for each man+ 2 children for each couple and those who followed alone). Could be 50,000 and look how many obeyed His Apostles that first day that began the church/kingdom.
Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

People need to see to believe... Frankly I'd have a little more respect for his shit if it wasn't written down on a 2000 yr old CONSTRUCTION.

It's time for you to get a grip on reality and tell yourself that dead people don't come back.

I already believe. People will believe that God is real when He comes back.
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

—Matthew 25:31-46

Scripture would lead one to believe so, yes.

Now, this doesn't mean, by any stretch, that all will be happy with this situation. Yes, every knee will bow (as the creation must do to the Creator), but some will be sickened by it. Their pride will be so great that considering giving one's Creator any sort of respect or adoration will cause no end of distress.

He will not touch earth when He comes close for the rapture> this will change many . His 2nd coming will be at the battle of armegedon when His feet will touch grnd, and then it will be to late for some

Perhaps you remember what we are told? That when he comes, is revealed to the world, the nations lament!

It is hard to not believe someone is serious when he is killing you !! Jesus is coming to pay everybody back all their deserve according to their deeds -- a lot of people are going to die at his hands (his angels and saints hands).

" 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds"

Why do you think this is said: 30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn . . .

All you have to do is look at David Blaine. I can't see it being much different, except there would be preaching with it.

When Jesus returns on the Day of Judgement, there will be the lake of fire on the one hand and Heaven on the other hand, so from my Trinitarian beliefs modern day society will believe him.

If the Biblical Jesus came back in the way that the Bible describes then people would believe...it says he will come out of the sky like lightening from the east. Now, that would be hard to refute, assuming we all actually witnessed that.

However, I don't take the Bible literally.

That is EXACTLY what we have a hard time getting through religious peoples heads. If we physically saw him, and it was indeed him our opinion may change. I cant speak for all atheists, but I would believe and may actually apologize.
