"Jesus" fulfilled nothing, the story was contrived to indicate that he did. Jewish people have a real religion that requires no fabricated justification.
Because the orthodox Jews still are waiting for a Messiah to come and recreate their "Davidic Kingdom" once again and allow them to live independent of any outside influences. They did not accept Jesus Christ because He did not promise a physical kingdom with Himself as their physical King sitting of a throne in Jerusalem. Plus they rejected the concept that their God would come down here in the form of a man and willingly die for the redemption of His created beings whom He created to be stewards over His creation. They were spiritually blind. They did not even realize that their "ship had come in."
