Uh, your logic is not logical. If knowledge is power, it doesn't necessarily mean that power is knowledge. Think about it.

If power is the ability to influence decisions, and knowledge is understanding, then the more knowledge we have, the better we can use our power.

'knowledge is power'and'power corrupts'are opinionated statements. power, in Saddam Hussein's case, is corrupting. power, in Jesus's case, is not. knowledge is not always power. i'm pretty sure the 'knowledge is power' slogan was popularized by a national association of libraries with the adgenda to get kids reading.so basically- if you wanna look at it like that, that's your opinion.

Sorry, you only have it half right. You forgot "the use of"Neither by itself or with each other can do much of anything. It takes action. then you are assuming "All" Do you really believe that all knowledge is bad or that all power corrupts? Shame on you! Why don't you add all power is completely, therefore all power corrupts completely! Too often our perception of the world is based on cliches, but looking closely there is more to it. Words come too easily for some. You might be doomed to a life less than it could be without knowledge!

If you gain power through knowledge and understanding, you will not be easily corrupted by power. But if you gain power through force or violence or subterfuge (fraud, deception, etc.), then power will corrupt you. In other words, to keep power, you will be ready to do anything. In fact, this is what happened to Anakin Skywalker. He was "given" power by Palpatine. So he did everything he could to keep it (he even wanted to recruit Luke, his son, to get rid of the Emperor).Obi-Wan, on the other hand, became powerful through understanding and meditation. His supreme power was demonstrated when, in his last battle with his former apprentice, he just closed his eyes and disappeared into the next world (if that's not power, I don't know what is!).Obi-Wan gained power through knowledge and understanding. It is the only correct path to power.
