...conservative when he won? Liberals play this shell game about "liberals and conservatives switched places."

Lincoln was liberal for wanting to change the status quo by abolishing slavery. By the end of the Civil War, abolitionists changed from liberals to conservatives because they accomplished the change they wanted to make.

So does that mean abolitionists suddenly changed their thinking on slavery because they changed from liberal to conservative? No, of course not. They were still abolitionists, abolitionism changed from a liberal to a conservative position.

So if their thinking was still the same, and the Democrats formed the KKK and lynched blacks, why do liberals think it changes anything by saying Lincoln was a liberal, just as they are liberals today?

Shouldn't a person be identified by what specific beliefs they hold, rather than labels like "liberal" or "conservative?"

Why to liberals today try to take credit for what Lincoln did by saying he was liberal, and liberals and conservative switched places? Republicans continued to believe what Republicans believe, as they changed from liberal to conservative, while southern racist bigot Democrats continued to believe what southernn racist bogot Democrats believed as they changed from conservative (trying to keep slavery) to liberal (trying to undo the change).
