in different states.? My credit is really poor right now and my 8 year old car just broke down (the transmission is bad). So, I am thinking about asking my dad to finance the car to me & I'll make the payments to him.
I think the big problem is that he lives in OH and I live in AZ. AZ law states that you have to have AZ plates & a license if you are living & working there--like most states. So, if he finances the car for me, will he need to come to AZ and register the car in AZ? Can he do this if his state of residence is IL?
Also, from a financing perspective, are there any other drawbacks? Also, if he has really good credit, is it possible for him to just be a consignor, even with my really bad credit history? Any advice is appreciated!
