Name one piece of medical innovation, research or development that has ever come from a nation other than the United States. When Cancer and AIDS are cured, guess where the cures will come from? No, not Japan, not Germany, not France, not Israel.....they will come from America and as long as we don't have universal health care we can keep the innovations coming.
