if the app is on google android OS , for free music does it make it legal?

most smart phones on googles OS Android have free apps to download music. Now if its illegal why do they have these free apps on android market. Does this make it legal that a giant Industry like google is allowing apps like this on their market.
 
Are you sure they're not file sharing apps, rather than stand alone music downloading apps? If it's file sharing, then yes I would assume that it's illegal to use it to download music.

But since it's been *authorised* by Google, I don't see why it should be a problem.
