If the teachers are so horrible, why are Asians doing well in school and not

And many of them happen to be low income.
Also Asians tend to go to public high schools.

U.S. public school teachers train......Chinese teachers teach. That's exactly why Chinese 5th graders kick the crap out of U.S. 8th graders in math and science.

Not sure, I knew more than kids do today learning just from textbooks than all the technology they enjoy today. It has a lot to do with recognizing it being a privilege to have an education instead of a right driving my desire to learn. Creates a giant worldview difference. Of course, it was a teacher telling them it was their right.

Because Asians are forced to under the whole "shame" thing. Their parents think that if there kids do bad, they bring "great shame" to the family. Also, us Americans could care less about school and education. And could you blame us? Our education system is so messed up, kids just about learn absolutely nothing. The schools teach just about zero percent to do with the real world and work ethic. They just throw a stack of worksheets on students' desks and go back to their desk and read magazines and play on the computer, and expect the kids to do all the work easily without any questions or problems. And our very over-exagerated math and science should be toned down a bit. And we just crap off the regular K-12 school. We just expect to ship em off to college and then they do something right. Asians are just better at it I guess.

The teachers aren't bad overall. Most of them are very good at their job. The student body represents their parents and society in the values they bring to the classroom. This is something that is not within the teachers' conrol.

Asians have respect for knowledge; Americans like things that are really shiny. Asians have self-respect and fear losing face; Americans have skateboards and fear losing their cell phone.
