If the UK is a secular cohesive society why is religion such an issue?

I'm feed up seeing 'racist' posts.

The recent 'Gaza' assault by Israel was wrong full stop. Why are there effects on British citizens who follow the Jewish faith (like all religion I would like to say myth)?

Did these people have any direct input into the conflict?

the UK i live and work in is not a secular cohesive society, its a broken atomised society that worships the god of owning junk today and paying for it tomorrow

Excellent question! I think because in the minds of the PC brigade religion and race have become confused. In the case of the Jews, ethnicity and religion are much more closely intertwined. The tendency to scapegoat is probably as old as mankind itself. It isn't rational, but sadly humanity isn't rational.

Anti-Semitism is absolutely and totally wrong, and in no way justified by what happened in Gaza.

Just as anti-Muslim behaviour is absolutely and totally wrong, and in no way justified by what happened on 9/11 or 7/7.

Each person is accountable for his/her own behaviour, but not for the behaviour of other people who happen to belong to the same group, religious, national, or whatever.

People ought to be speaking out loud and clear about both of these in the same way and for the same reasons.

wow. what the hell are you talking about dude? did anyone else understand this jackass's question?
