I asked God to tell me jokes once because I was sick.
He told me very corny jokes and I roared for several days.
Of course my entire family thought I had lost my mind but oh well.
He started off talking like Rodney Dangerfield and He said " take my wife.,,please." ( the wife is the Bride of Christ and I was always pro reform of the current model )
He said he was the first original Jewish stand up comedian.
He told me this joke about Peter where he said "Mr friend Peter was walking near a kid's wading pool and fell in." I said "Peter , you walk much?"
He also told me he wanted to show me somethings downstairs. When I got there he didn't say anything so I said " Well... God bless you." and I laughed at the absurdity of sitting downstairs waiting and he said " Ahchoo!"
Then he began to talk to me about very serious things but he did tell me other jokes.
You may be thinking his jokes are very , very corny but this is because I like corny jokes like children's jokes. He has far more sophisticated humor but he knows how to play to an audience.
I recall apologizing to him about saying I was God's bottom when some person tried to get me to say what part of the body I thought I was . It was entrapment because she thought I thought too highly of myself.
So later God said .. Don't apologize for that. You are the place where I rest. I am always apologizing.
Well we are all the place where he rests. He wasn't singling me out to be special but he was just laughing with me.
Another time I forgot to pray over a meal and I said I am saying I forgot to say grace but he had been talking to me at the time so he said " Look at Buffalo( my cat) so I watched her chomping on tuna . He said she didn't say grace either but you can sure tell she appreciates the food.
If this doesn't do it for you.. aardvarks and platypuses are surely too funny to be taken as serious animals.
