you pick? I would travel back in time to either the Moscow Music Peace Festival in 1989 or the Donnington Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1991.

The lineup for the Moscow Festival was:

Bon Jovi
Ozzy Osbourne
Motley Crue
Aerosmith
The Scorpions
Gorky Park
Cinderella
Skid Row

Monsters Of Rock 91 lineup:

AC/DC
Metallica
Motley Crue
Queensryche
The Black Crowes

Now everyone has different tastes in Rock and Metal music, so be respectful of which festival they choose

Now be creative and pick a festival that happened before the 21st century. Nothing that happened in the last 10 years
Don't pick Woodstock either. That is a very typical choice. Something interesting. And a FESTIVAL!! Not concert

Um definitely the Moscow Festival for sure!

Wouldn't wanna go to the Monsters Of Rock one though, although i would like to see Metallica and the Crue live i couldn't stand watching AC/DC. All there songs sound the same.
 
Fine if I can't do Woodstock then Monterey Pop festival 1967. Jimi Hendrix and the Who both rose to fame in America from this festival, and some legendary performances.
 
Fine, Big Cypress 12/31/99 Phish. Greatest Phish concert ever. Maybe even the greatest concert ever.
