If you replace the ECU on a 2001 Toyota Rav4, do you have to have it programmed?

I just replaced the ECU on my Rav4 for the same issue everyone else does...
I bought the O.E.M. ECU from a dealer, but it was shipped to me and I installed it myself.
Do I have to take it to a dealer to have it programmed to my Automatic transmission, or does it come programmed?
