I need headphones that are drop dead crystal clear sound, no over powering bass or treb, and are comfortable.

NO BUDS or IN EAR HEADPHONES!
 
the first key to CLEAR sound is to BUY your music. so if you already get your music from iTunes then you're ready to go

if you don't no headphones will help the terrible quality available on LimeWire

You said you wanted the BEST. You'll have to pay for it to get it.

However, the headphones simply change an electrical signal to sound waves. The quality of the source (studio CD, multi-chanel stereo CD, digital file, etc.) and transmiter (sound card, stereo, CD player, home theater receiver) will impact the quality you hear as well.
 
I'm partial to Bang & Olufsen headphones, but Sennheiser is the choice of many audio professionals.
