how do we switch the title over and how do i get it registered

fill out the back title . also get a bill of sale .. it should have the vin , names , price , sale date info on it.. some states need a inspection . insurance . go to the dmv .. pay sales tax their , buy tages , pay for the title .. they send it to you.. if you dont plan driving the car .. you can skip the insurance , inspection 'you sitll might need a vin inspection' , skip buying the plates ..

Both the buyer and seller have to sign the back of the title. Once it has been signed you take it to the DMV to register the car in your name and have the title re-issued in your name.
