but how do I sell them? As stated, I'm writing a few television series which I'd ultimately like to sell for profit. How would I go about pitching it to a network? Would they expect ME to film the actual pilot myself prior to the pitch? How would I actually find a network's contact info to schedule a meeting to make said pitch? If a network isn't interested, how would I go about selling screenplays to amateur filmmakers, where would I find them?

Your first step in the process will be to find an agent or agency that has connections. You do not want to simply mail off your intellectual property, regardless of whether or not you've legalzooned some copyrights.

You will NOT need to film your own pilot. Once a network decides it has interest in a pitch, it will pay for one episode's production (the pilot). Based on reception to that pilot they may choose to order or not order further episodes.

This process will not happen overnight and you need to be sure you have researched your agent/agencies thoroughly before selecting one to handle your series. You can Google this and find a ton of information.

I am not clear on amateur filmmakers fit in to this equation. You could look for agents with connections to the IFC or Sundance. Also, I would call your local universities and speak with program directors in the heading the film departments. They might have inside information, as most of them have in-field experience and liaisons.

Good luck. I hope some of this information is helpful to you.
