Im extremely shy? Its ruining my relationship..?

Im 16. I have been talking to this guy for the past few months. Hes 18 and we have a lot of mutual friends, but had never met before. The other night, we met for the first time. It was us two, and two of our friends. I was extremely shy. He was funny, loud, random, and sweet. I could tell that he didnt like me, but I barely said 10 words all night. After that night, i messaged him online but he never wrote back. he thinks that im stuck up or something, but i was just nervous and didnt know if he liked me. Also, he was sober because he drove over, but me and everyone else were smoking pot. i hadnt smoked in awhile and i got really paranoid, too. What should I do? I think he hates me and we had so much in common. i have never been so shy in my life, but i was so nervous around him.
I meant I could tell that he did like me. Okay let me clarify: he liked me that night, but after he thought that i was weird for being quite.
 
If you get another chance to see him, then do.

If you can`t get anything else out during the date, at least explain that you were quiet the first time, because of your extreme shyness. Then he won`t be puzzled as to why you are so quiet.

Shy people CAN appear odd, and make people feel uneasy. Not only that, it leaves them to do all the talking which is unfair.
